Floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinet — maker's own home, Syracuse, NY. Personal piece, not a commissioned project.

This pantry started as a practical problem: an awkward alcove that wasn't doing enough work. The finished piece runs floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall — every inch of vertical space accounted for, with adjustable shelving above, deep pull-outs at working height, and closed cabinet doors on the lower section so the room stays clean from the outside.

Construction is face-frame with inset doors — a more labor-intensive approach than frameless, but it gives the piece a furniture-grade quality that holds up over time and matches the trim language of an older home. Hardware is soft-close throughout. The finish is a painted lacquer over primed MDF doors with solid wood frames.

I built this piece in my own home specifically to develop the process and prove the construction approach before taking on commissions. It's the benchmark every future pantry gets measured against.
